COVID-19 cases in Bicol climb to 4,810

The cumulative COVID-19 cases in Bicol Region have reached 4,810 as of March 1, the Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol reported.

The DOH reported 17 new cases as of yesterday. Active cases currently stood at 456.

The distribution of newly reported cases:

ALBAY: 7 (41.18%)
3 – Legazpi City
2 – Tiwi
1 – Rapu-Rapu
1 – Sto. Domingo

CAM SUR: 1 (5.88%)
1 – Balatan

CATANDUANES: 1 (5.88%)
1 – Pandan

SORSOGON: 8 (47.06%)
3 – Magallanes
1 – Bulusan
1 – Barcelona
1 – Irosin
1 – Gubat
1 – Sta. Magdalena

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Recoveries on the other hand are now at 4,148 representing 86.24% of the total cases.

Death toll due to the viral illness remain 206 as or March 1.

The DOH also reminded Bicolanos to follow health protocols in order to prevent the further spread of the disease.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH/
