The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan is pushing for the creation of a task force that will prioritize focus on the teenage pregnancy issues in the province.

A measure titled Resolution No.060-21 “Urging Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez to create a multi-sectoral task force to halt the rising number of teenage pregnancy in Palawan, offering adequate socio-economic support to those who already gave birth and provide funds thereof” was filed before the board.

The resolution was principally authored by Board Member Angela Sabando and co-authored by all the members of the SP.

The board member said that unwanted teenage pregnancy usually results in poverty.

The resolution has already been referred to the Committee on Health at Committee on Women and Family for proper discussion and debates.
