Palawan Sanggunian asks DILG to provide hazard pay for barangay tanods

The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan has asked the Department of Interior and Local Government to provide hazard pay for tanods in the province.

The SP passed Resolution No. 054-21 entitled “Requesting DILG Secretary Eduardo Año thru Usec. Martin Diño to provide special risk allowance/hazard pay to barangay tanods who rendered duty as COVID-19 non-medical frontliners in the Province.”

The said resolution was authored by Board Member Ryan D. Maminta. The council approved the measure during a special session yesterday, Feb. 10.

He also noted that the DILG has the prerogative to decide how much the hazard pay would be but it should not be lower than P500 per day.
