Bicol’s total COVID-19 cases rise to 4,420
The cumulative cases of coronavirus disease in Bicol Region as of February 3 stood at 4,420, the Department of Health Center for Health Development reported.
The DOH reported 31 new cases as of yesterday. Active cases reached 601.
The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:
ALBAY: 15 (48.39%)
13 – Legazpi City
1 – Guinobatan
1 – Sto. Domingo
CAM SUR: 13 (41.94%)
7 – Naga City
2 – Nabua
1 – Pili
1 – Bombon
1 – Magarao
1 – Cabusao
MASBATE: 2 (6.45%)
1 – Aroroy
1 – Cataingan
SORSOGON: 1 (3.23%)
1 – Pilar
The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.
On the other hand, the department logged 10 new recoveries. Total number of patients who recovered from the viral illness are now 3,638.
Meanwhile, one death was reported in Legazpi City. Total death toll now in the region is 181.
Meanwhile, the DOH has repeated its call to Bicolanos to strictly follow health protocols to prevent the further spread of the virus.
“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
