DOH reports 35 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol Region has reported 35 new coronavirus disease cases as of February 2.

The latest figure pushed the region’s total to 4,389 COVID-19 cases. Active cases are now 581.

The distribution of newly reported cases:

ALBAY: 17 (48.57%)
9 – Daraga
3 – Legazpi City
2 – Camalig
1 – Guinobatan
1 – Tiwi
1 – Bacacay

CAM NORTE: 1 (2.86%)
1 – Daet

CAM SUR: 16 (45.71%)
13 – Naga City
1 – Pasacao
1 – Sipocot
1 – Milaor

MASBATE: 1 (2.86%)
1 – Aroroy

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Meanwhile, the DOH reported 22 new recoveries as of yesterday. Total recoveries are now 3,628

Death toll due to COVID-19 remains 180.

Meanwhile, the DOH has repeated its call to Bicolanos to strictly follow health protocols to prevent the further spread of the virus.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
