Bicol’s total coronavirus cases rise to 4,348

The Bicol Region has ended the month of January with a total of 4,348 coronavirus disease cases, the Department of Health Center for Health and Development Center reported.
On January 31, Bicol logged 22 new cases. Active cases are now 571.
The distribution of newly reported cases:
ALBAY: 5 (22.73%)
4 – Legazpi City
1 – Malinao
CAM SUR: 7 (31.82%)
2 – Naga City
2 – Lagonoy
1 – Ragay
1 – San Fernando
1 – Camaligan
CATANDUANES: 2 (9.09%)
1 – Virac
1 – Bato
MASBATE: 5 (22.73%)
1 – Masbate City
1 – Aroroy
1 – Cataingan
1 – Milagros
1 – Mobo
SORSOGON: 3 (13.64%)
1 – Sorsogon City
1 – Castilla
1 – Gubat
The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.
The department also said total recoveries in the region are now 3,598 after 6 new patients recovered from the viral disease.
Death toll due to COVID-19 reached 178.
Meanwhile, the DOH has repeated its call to Bicolanos to strictly follow health protocols to prevent the further spread of the virus.
“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
