COVID-19 cases in Bicol rises to 4,258

The coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region have risen anew to 4,258 after 18 new cases were reported by the Department of Health Center for Health Development.

Active cases in the region stood at 644 or 15.12% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases:

ALBAY: 2 (11.11%)
1 – Legazpi City
1 – Malinao

CAM SUR: 7 (38.89%)
2 – Iriga City
2 – Sipocot
1 – Buhi
1 – Canaman
1 – Naga City

MASBATE: 5 (27.78%)
3 – Aroroy
1 – Cataingan
1 – Masbate City

SORSOGON: 4 (22.22%)
3 – Irosin
1 – Sorsogon City

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Meanwhile the DOH reported 22 new recoveries. Total number of patients who survived the illness now stood at 3,440.

One new fatality was logged in Naga City. Total death toll in Bicol reached 173 as of January 27.

Meanwhile, the DOH has repeated its call to Bicolanos to strictly follow health protocols to prevent the further spread of the virus.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
