Coronavirus cases in Bicol climb to 4,221

The Department of Health Center for Health Development-Bicol reported 14 new coronavirus disease cases in the region as of January 25.

This brings the total cases in Bicol to 4,221. Active cases are now 650.

CAM SUR: 13 (92.86%)
11 – Naga City
1 – Nabua
1 – Sipocot

SORSOGON: 1 (7.14%)
1 – Sorsogon City

The department said thatdetails of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Meanwhile, 33 new recoveries were logged yesterday. Total number of patients who survived the viral illness now stood at 3,398.

However, the Department reported two deaths. One from Albay and another one in Naga City.

Total death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 173.

Meanwhile, the DOH appealed to Bicolanos to strictly follow health protocols to prevent the further spread of the virus.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
