Bicol’s coronavirus disease cases climb to 4,207

The Department of Health Center for Health Development in Bicol Region has reported 28 new COVID-19 cases as of January 24.

The latest report pushed the region’s total to 4,207. Active cases are now 671.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 6 (21.43%)
2 – Legazpi City
2 – Tabaco City
1 – Bacacay
1 – Daraga

CAM SUR: 10 (35.71%)
3 – Iriga City
2 – Libmanan
1 – Cabusao
1 – Naga City
1 – San Fernando
1 – San Jose
1 – Sipocot

CATANDUANES: 3 (10.71%)
3 – Virac

MASBATE: 9 (32.14%)
3 – Aroroy
2 – Masbate City
1 – Baleno
1 – Cawayan
1 – Claveria
1 – Esperanza

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Three new recoveries have been recorded. Total number of patients who survived the viral illness is now 3,365.

Death toll in Bicol due to COVID-19 is 171 as of January 24.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
