COVID-19 cases in Bicol rise to 4,143

The coronavirus disease cases in the Bicol Region have risen to 4,143 as of January 21, the Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol reported.

The department logged four new cases as of yesterday. Active cases are now 641.

The distribution of newly reported cases:

CAM SUR: 3 (75%)
2 – Minalabac
1 – San Fernando

SORSOGON: 1 (25%)
1 – Sorsogon City

The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Meanwhile, total recoveries in the region are now 3,333 after five new patients have recovered from the viral illness.

Meanwhile, one more patient from Albay died due to COVID-19. Total death toll is now 169.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
