Goats are great, says Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara
Perhaps it’s now the goats’ time to shine.
Farmers had long preferred cows and only considered goats as a second choice, thus leading to the latter being known as the poor man’s cow.
But this is now changing, Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara said on Facebook.
Goat raising has now become a sunshine industry, Bichara said.
And to encourage more farmers to go into goat production, the Provincial Veterinary Albay and the Albay Small Ruminants Raisers Association provided technical and marketing assistance to goat raisers from Magogon, Camalig and Maopi, Daraga, Albay, he said.
Through these efforts, more goats will be raised in the province and provide livelihood to the people.
Goats are great!
“Traditionally, goats are considered poor man’s cow. But today, this is a sunshine industry. To encourage more farmers to venture into goat production, continuous technical and marketing assistance by Provincial Veterinary Albay and Albay Small Ruminants Raisers Association (ASRRA) were provided to the goat raisers of Magogon, Camalig and Maopi, Daraga, Albay last January 15, 2021,” Bichara posted.
