VP Robredo remembers her dad on his 88th birth anniversary

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
Vice President Leni Robredo’s father left her more than his looks and his good name.
Robredo paid tribute to her dad and shared fond memories about him on Facebook as she marked what would have been his 88th birthday.
Antonio Geronam a trial court judge, passed away more than seven years ago.
In her post, Robredo said she has always been called her dad’s female version because she looked like, was reserved like him, and was the only one in the family who became a lawyer like him.
He taught her how to conduct a direct examination, cross examine witnesses, and prepare good pleadings. He always reminded me to never be late in court, to always beprepared, and to keep in mind that there is no substitute for hard work and preparation.
He also imparted good values to her by serving as an example of compassion and kindness, she said.
He always welcomed into their home people who needed a place to stay.
He also made his family feel that they have been blessed and should care for others.
He may have passed on, but the lessons he taught them remain!
“Remembering my Dad on his 88th Birthday today. He died more than 7 years ago, shortly after Jesse left us and a few months after I won a Congressional seat.
Everyone says I am my Dad’s female version. I looked like him, was reserved like him, and I was the only one in the family who followed his footsteps and became a lawyer.
Daddy was a Regional Trial Court Judge assigned to hear heinous crimes cases when I started doing litigation work and appearing in court. He was the one who taught me how to do direct examination, cross examine witnesses, and prepare good pleadings. He always reminded me to never be late in court, to always come prepared, and to keep in mind that there is no substitute for hard work and preparation.
But more than these, my Dad was the one who taught us, by example, compassion and kindness. We grew up with him, welcoming into our home, people who needed a place to stay, or needed a meal. We did not have much but he always made us feel that we have been blessed and should take responsibility for the welfare of others.
We miss him everyday but we take to heart all the lessons he instilled in us,” Robredo posted.
