COVID-19 cases in Bicol rise to 4,061

The Bicol Region has reported 17 new coronavirus disease cases as of January 17, pushing the region’s total to 4,061.
The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol reported that active cases in the region are now 625 or 15.39% of the total cases.
The distribution of newly reported cases:
ALBAY: 3 (17.65%)
1 – Daraga
1 – Tiwi
1 – Bacacay
CAM NORTE: 2 (11.76%)
1 – Santa Elena
1 – Daet
CAM SUR: 5 (29.41%)
1 – Naga City
1 – Nabua
1 – Canaman
1 – Minalabac
1 – Buhi
MASBATE: 5 (29.41%)
2 – Milagros
1 – Placer
1 – Aroroy
1 – Cawayan
SORSOGON: 2 (11.76%)
1 – Sorsogon City
1 – Bulan
The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.
Meanwhile, Bicol Region also recorded 6 recoveries as of yesterday. Total recoveries are now 3,270 or 80.52% of the total cases.
Death toll on the other hand remains 166.
“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the department.
“Let us follow the BIDA Solusyon sa COVID-19 para sa Serbisyong Salud Bikolnon,” it added.
