Rep. Sato’s bill seeking to create new barangay in San Jose gets committee approval

The measure authored by Occidental Mindoro Rep. Josephine Ramirez-Sato seeking to establish a new barangay in San Jose has secured the approval of a House committee.

The Committee on Local Government, unanimously approved House Bill 4936, titled: An Act Creating a Barangay to be known as Barangay Naibuan in the Municipality of San Jose, Province of Occidental Mindoro.

“Ang panukalang batas ay magkakaloob ng isang natatanging Barangay para sa mga kapatid nating Mangyan na naninirahan sa Naibuan,” Sato’s office said.

“Ito ay bahagi ng programa ni Cong. Nene na nagbibigay ng pagkilala at kapangyarihan sa mga kapatid nating mga katutubo,” it added.

Sato also thanked Rep. Noel Villanueva, chairman of the panel as well as its members for approving the measure.

“Kinikilala din natin ang ambag ng DENR MIMAROPA at OkSi PENRO sa paggawa ng survey plan at administrative boundary map ng Brgy. Naibuan,” the lawmaker’s office said.
