Connecting people? Oriental Mindoro Board Member Mikan Leachon acts on loss of telco signal
Oriental Mindoro Board Member Mikan Leachon wasn’t spared from losing his cellphone signal at the height of heavy rains in the province.
In a post on his Facebook page, Leachon assured his constituents that he did not just sit on the problem.
He said he had called the attention of Globe and Smart to the problem during the council’s session.
The local government units also suffer because of the lost signal, as they are unable to communicate with disaster management agencies.
Students were also late in submitting requirements for school due to lack of connectivity, he said.
Other consumers were worried that their load would expire without being used because of the poor signal.
He said he made sure officials know about these concerns so that the province won’t lose its connection again.
Let’s hope it can stay connected in case of another calamity!
“WALANG SIGNAL? |
(Department of Information and Communications)
For the following reasons:
1. Napakahirap makipag-communicate ng LGU sa disaster risk management agencies kapag walang signal habang may crisis o sakuna.
