Make sure you know what we’re celebrating on December 8, says Albay Vice Gov. Grex Lagman

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is now a non-working holiday in the country, and Albay Vice Gov. Grex Lagman wants to make sure people know what we are celebrating.

Lagman took to Facebook to correct misconceptions about the feast.

Lagman said the date does not commemorate the Virgin Mary’s conception of the child Jesus, as many believe.

The feast day is meant to celebrate the conception of Mary in the womb of her mother, St. Anne, he said.

St. Anne is immaculate or free from original sin, which means Mary was born without original sin, he said.

Since Lagman was once a Catholic school boy, he knows his feast days!

“Today we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. I was once a Catholic school boy so it’s my obligation to inform those open to the right teachings on what we’re actually celebrating today. Although these two are accepted Catholic dogmas.

Yehey!!!

God bless po! 🙏
