Twenty-five rebel returnees have received financial aid from the Palawan provincial government in order to help them integrate with the society.

“Sa pagnanais ni Gob. Jose Ch. Alvarez na mas marami pang mga kaanib ng makakaliwang grupo ang mahikayat na magbalik loob sa pamahalaan kung kaya’t patuloy na nagkakaloob ng livelihood assistance ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan para sa mga ito,” said the provincial government.

The said granting of livelihood assistance was part of the Local Social Integration Program (LSIP) to Former Rebels.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Abigail D. Ablaña said that 31 rebel returnees were supposed to receive financial aid but only 25 were able to personally attend.

“Aniya, tumanggap ang bawat isang rebel returnee ng halagang P25,000.00 bilang livelihood assistance mula sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan,” said the province.

Vice Governor Victorino Dennis Socrates, PSWDO Ablaña; Col. Bob Apostol, OIC of 3rd Marine Brigade and Lt.Gen. Erickson R. Gloria, PAF Commander of Western Command led the event.

“Ang mga nasabing rebelde na nagbalik-loob sa pamahalaan ay sumailalim na sa masusing pagsisiyasat ng Philippine National Police at Armed Forces of the Philippines bago inirekomenda sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na maaari nang pagkalooban ng tulong pinansiyal” the province said.
