Narra, Palawan gets own COVID isolation building, TB-DOTS clinic

The Narra town in Palawan now has its own Isolation Building and Tuberculosis Program-Directly Observed Treatment Strategy (TB-DOTS) Clinic.

The new facilities, located in Brgy. Antipuluan, were inaugurated yesterday.

Gob. Jose Ch. Alvarez, Engr. Saylito Purisima, PIO Winston Arzaga as well as other provincial government officials led the turn over and blessing.

“Ginagawa natin ito bilang tugon para tutukan ang COVID pandemic, kailangan natin ang isolation building, [kung] mild at asymptomatic [cases] dito natin sila ilagay”, bahagi ng pahayag ni Gob. Alvarez

The facilities have complete equipment which was funded by the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

“Malaki ang maitutulong talaga nito especially sa bayan ng Narra, sa mga may asymptomatic to mild cases [COVID-19] natin na kababayan mas matutukan sila ng ating medical frontliners… Hindi rin tayo nagpapabaya sa LGU at suportado natin ang lahat ng mga proyekto ng Provincial Government…”, Acting Mayor Lumba said.

Dra. Maria Arlin Josue, Chief of Hospital of Narra Municipal Hospital, said the new medical facilities will be of great help for the residents.

“Sa mahal po nating tatay [Gov.JCA] ng ating probinsya, siya po talaga ang swerte ng ating Palawan kasi sa ilang taon namin sa health [sector], ngayon lang po kami nagkaroon ng magandang ospital…Tapos sabi pa ni Engr. Purisima, lalagyan din ng GeneXpert ang TB-DOTS para kumpleto talaga… Sa lahat ng tumulong sa amin dito sa hospital ay thank you po”, Dra. Josue said.
