Albay Gov. Bichara orders precautionary measures amid bad weather

Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara has ordered the local government units to take precautionary measures amid the bad weather condition in the region.

As of 10:00 am today, the low pressure area was located at 230 Km East North East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

It is forecast to move Northwestward towards the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas Area.

PAGASA forcast that the LPA is likely to develop into Tropical Depression Ofel within the next 24 hours today and will bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Eastern Visayas, Surigao Provinces, Dinagat Island, Sorsogon, Albay, and Catanduanes.

For public safety, Bichara ordered the following:

1. Initiate local preparedness measures in their respective area of jurisdiction and call for emergency preparedness meeting of the LDRRMC.

2. No sailing to fishermen and small sea crafts.

3. For the public to closely monitor the updates on weather information and local weather advisories from PAGASA and Albay PDRRMC, released through the local radio stations.

4. As soon as the LPA develops into Tropical Depression, Albay PDRRMC will issue another Emergency Advisory for your updates, information, action and disaster avoidance.
