COVID-19 cases in Bicol Region now at 1,772


The coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region has reached 1,772 as of September 21, the Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol said.

The DOH recorded 8 new cases yesterday. Active cases are now 407, representing 22.97% of the total cases.

Distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 3 (37.5%)
– Legazpi City 3

CAMARINES SUR: 3 (37.5%)
– Naga City 1
– Baao 1
– San Fernando 1

SORSOGON: 2 (25%)
– Gubat 2

“Details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.
Releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173),” said the DOH Bicol.

Total recoveries now stood at 1,299, while death toll is not 66 after three deaths were reported as of yesterday.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the department.
