CamSur Rep. Villafuerte: Bigger funds to be allotted for COVID-19 response in 2021 budget
Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte vowed that the legislature will allot bigger funds for the country’s coronavirus disease response.
Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado submitted to Congress yesterday the proposed 2021 budget amounting to P4.5 trillion. This marks the official budget season at the Congress.
“2021 National Expenditure Program submitted to Congress by the Department of Budget And Management . This formally starts budget hearings and deliberations for the 2021 Natl Budget,” said Villafuerte.
“After passing Bayanihan 2, more work needed to scrutinize this budget,” he added.
With this, Villafuerte, a House deputy speaker, said that the congress will surely earmark more funds to combat and mitigate the effects of the coronavirus disease.
“Congress will make sure Bigger appropriations for COVID19 response and recovery are provided for 2021,” he said.
