Ako Bicol Rep. Garbin urges LGUs to use their education fund to reproduce students’ module
Ako Bicol partylist Rep. Alfredo Garbin appealed to local government units to use their special education fund (SEF) to reproduce modules of the students amid the implementation of blended learning sgtrategy.
Garbin said that a “common concern” among the schools that they have visited was the reproduction of learning modules that the students will use once classes resume.
“One common concern in all the schools na binisita natin sa Rehiyon Bicol bago ang opening ng classes sa Aug. 24 ay ang pag reproduce ng mga Modules para sa mga mag-aaral,” said Garbin.
“Ang Deped po ay may inilaan na 668Million for the entire Region 5, pero ayon sa aking panayam Kay Director Sadsad yoon ay intended for the 2nd quarter of the School year,” he said.
This first quarter, Garbin said that all the public schools will tap their MOOEs funds, which are inadequate.
“Tayo po’y nawawagan sa mga LGU’s na gamitin ng wasto ang kanilang Special Education Fund (SEF) at kung pwde ma-allocate sa pag reproduce ng mga modules upang makatulong sa distant learning ng ating mag aaral ngayong pandemya,” the Ako Bicol solon proposed.
