DOH Bicol records 18 new cases of COVID-19; Region’s total now 372

Eighteen new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been recorded in Bicol Region as of last night by the Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol.

The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the region is now three hundred seventy-two, while active cases are two hundred eight.

Of the 18 new cases, six are from Albay (3 Legazpi City, 2 Manito, 1 Guinobatan), four (4) from Camarines Sur (2 Goa, 1 Bula, 1 Sipocot), four (4) from Naga City, and four (4) from Sorsogon (2 Gubat, 2 Sta Magdalena).

The DOH said that releasing of other details about the said patients is at the discretion of the Local Government Units (LGUs) concerned guided by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Meanwhile, the department also appealed to Bicolanos to follow minimum health protocols amid rising coronavirus disease infections in the Region.

“COVID-19 confirmed cases in Bicol Region are increasing. The public especially the Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs), Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases must strictly follow quarantine and isolation procedures,” the DOH said.

“Stay calm. Everyone must follow all the health protocols such as social distancing, use of facemask especially when outdoors, hand washing, cough etiquette, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home. Cooperation and discipline from the public are crucial at this time of crisis,” it added.
