Bawal bumoto! Albay Vice Gov. Grex Lagman explains why his dad was not among pro ABS-CBN voters

Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman was among the most vocal supporters of ABS-CBN during its franchise hearing at the House of Representatives, but he was among those allowed to vote because he was not a member of the legislative franchises committee.

Albay Vice Gov. Grex Lagman issued this clarification on Facebook after some people wondered why his father’s name was missing from the list of 11 pro ABS-CBN lawmakers.

Grex said that while his dad joined the hearings and spoke up for the network, he has no voting authority.

But his father’s position has been clear from the start and he had pushed for the grant of a franchise for the network.

He also wrote the committee chair asking that the franchise be deliberated on in the plenary so that all lawmakers could vote on it.

Unfortunately, it was killed at the committee level.
