Bicol Region records seventh COVID-19 fatality
The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol confirmed the seventh COVID-19 fatality in Bicol Region last night.
Bicol#209, a 60-year old Filipino male from Legazpi City, Albay who was reported positive on July 10, passed away at 6:30 AM yesterday.
He first experienced symptoms on July 1, 2020 and was admitted at Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) on July 8, 2020. Said patient also had critical pneumonia and severe acute respiratory syndrome.
Bicol #209 was the fourth death in the province of Albay
“DOH CHD – Bicol would like to extend its condolences to the family and friends of Bicol#209,” said the department.
Meanwhile, the DOH appealed to the Bicolanos to remain vigilant and observe health measures amid the threat of the viral disease.
“The public is strongly advised to strictly follow community quarantine procedures as well as precautionary measures including proper hand washing, social distancing, cough etiquette, disinfection of commonly used objects, use of facemask, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home,” the DOH said.
“Everyone’s cooperation is crucial in this time of crisis,” it added.
