89th coronavirus case in Bicol recorded


The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 last night, bringing the confirmed cases recorded in Bicol Region to 89.

A 41-year old Filipino male from Legazpi City, Albay is the 89th confirmed case of COVID-19. He had an exposure to known COVID-19 confirmed cases and had a travel history from Quezon City.

His onset of illness was on June 4 and was swabbed by Albay Provincial Health Office (APHO). He is currently quarantined

Bicol#89 is a uniformed personnel hence the 5th frontliner to test positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DOH appealed to the Bicolanos to remain vigilant and observe health measures amid the threat of the viral disease.

“The public is strongly advised to strictly follow community quarantine procedures as well as precautionary measures including proper hand washing, social distancing, cough etiquette, disinfection of commonly used objects, use of facemask, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home,” the DOH said.

“Everyone’s cooperation is crucial in this time of crisis,” it added.
