Bicol Region coronavirus cases now at 86


The total number of coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region as of yesterday night, June 18, is now 86.

This, after the Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol reporte one new confirmed case of COVID-19 last night.

“The 86th confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 37-year old Filipino male from Oas, Albay who had a history of exposure to patient with local code Bicol#78,'” said the department.

“He is asymptomatic and is currently quarantined. His swab was facilitated by Albay Provincial Health Office,” it added.

Bicol#86 is a nurse and the 28th health worker to test positive for COVID-19 in the region.

The DOH also appealed to the Bicolanos to remain vigilant and then observe health measures.

“The public is strongly advised to strictly follow community quarantine procedures as well as precautionary measures including proper hand washing, social distancing, cough etiquette, disinfection of commonly used objects, use of facemask, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home. Everyone’s cooperation is crucial in this time of crisis,” said the department.
