DOH Bicol reports 82nd case of COVID-19

The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Bicol Region has reached 82 as of yesterday night.

The Department of Health Center for Health Development-Bicol confirmed the status of the Locally Stranded Individual (LSI) earlier reported in Catanduanes.

Said LSI tested positive after his sample was run at Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) via RT-PCR.

He is now tagged as Bicol#82. He is a 49-year old Filipino male from San Miguel, Catanduanes. He had a history of travel from Saudi Arabia and arrived in Manila on May 23.

The patient was the LSI who tested positive on June 1, 2020 at Philippine Red Cross in Manila and arrived in Catanduanes on June 8, 2020. He is currently quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility in Catanduanes with mild symptoms.

Meanwhile, the DOH-CHD also appealed to Bicolanos to strictly follow health protocols.

“The public is strongly advised to strictly follow community quarantine procedures as well as precautionary measures including proper hand washing, social distancing, cough etiquette, disinfection of commonly used objects, use of facemask, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home. Everyone’s cooperation is crucial in this time of crisis,” said the department.
