Albay gears up for low pressure area ‘Butchoy’
Governor Al Francis Bichara has placed the province of Albay under “Response Status” as a low pressure area brings rains to the province.
“The Albay PDRRMC hereby declares that the entire Province of Albay is under RESPONSE STATUS, as LPA “Butchoy” brings moderate to heavy rains in the province,” Bicahra’s order read.
The PDRRMC, headed by the governor, also advised all city and municipal DRRMOs to initiate local precautionary measures and to closely monitor the development of the weather disturbance for appropriate and timely action for disaster avoidance.
Among the following order include:
1. ACTIVATION of all city and municipal DRRMO’s to be on close monitoring of the status of LPA Butchoy for evacuation due to possible flood and landslide occurrences.
2. The BDRRMCs are also hereby ordered control movement of individuals to avoid rivers and other tributaries that may cause flooding in their area.
3. ALL DRRMO/Cs are hereby advised to execute evacuation plan if warranted and strictly observe covid-19 protocols and minimum health standard in the evacuation centers.
