Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bicol Region now at 72
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Bicol Region have climbed to 72 after three new cases were recorded today.
The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol reported that of the results released this morning from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), three are new COVID-19 positive.
The 70th confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 57-year old Filipino male from Legazpi City, Albay. Patient is asymptomatic, and is currently on quarantine. His history of exposure is still for validation.
Meanwhile, Bicol#71 is a 10-year old Filipino female from Labo, Camarines Norte. She is a close contact of patient with local code Bicol#61. Bicol#71 is asymptomatic and is on quarantine at Labo Quarantine Facility.
A 53-year old Filipino female is the 72nd confirmed case of COVID-19 in the region. She is a close contact of Bicol#61. Bicol#72 is asymptomatic and is also on quarantine at Labo Quarantine Facility.
The DOH-CHD also appealed to the public to strictly follow community quarantine procedures as well as precautionary measures including proper hand washing, social distancing, cough etiquette, disinfection of commonly used objects, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home.
“Everyone’s cooperation is crucial in this time of crisis,” the department said.
