Kailangan mahawa muna? Masbate BM Arevalo fails to get swab testing
Masbate Board Member Jason Arevalo said that he has refused to have swab test for coronavirus disease 2019.
“Driving home for nothing. No swab test done. I was flatly refused,” he said.
Arevalo said that he was informed he is not qualified to be tested under the guidelines issued by taskfoce against COVID-19.
“I was informed that I don’t qualify for a swab test as I’m neither a PUI (meaning established to have been in close contact with a Covid 19 positive person), nor a recovered patient, nor a medical frontliner, nor have Covid symptoms as determined by a doctor after due check up and consultation,” he said.
The Masbate politiko said that he already knew beforehand the Memo Order 2020-02 of the National Task Force against Covid 19 in the matter of locally stranded individuals and the other DOH circulars in the matter of qualification and order of preference of people to be subjected to PCR-RT test backward, forward, sideward, upward, downward.
“Well, the experience only confirmed what I already knew; exactly as I had understood the aforesaid memorandum orders and DOH circulars earlier on,” he said.
“Kailangang mahawa pa pala ako or magpapicture katabi ang isang certified Covid positive para maging isang PUI at para mag-qualify for a swab test,” he lamented.
Arevalo has been stranded in Manila as he got locked up due to the pandemic.
“I was here for an official business, i.e., the Philippine Board Members League Convention but got locked up owing to the Covid-19 menace,” he said in anoted Facebook post earlier.
