Mayor Panaligan leads City Government Executive Department
Calapan Mayor Arnan Panaligan has presided the City Government Executive Department Meeting which tackled the assistance provided to the residents, as well as future plans for the city
The meeting zeroed on the Mayor’s Report on the actions taken and assistance provided by the City Government during the quarantine period such as Food Assistance Program for 50,000 households, Mobile Market, Mobile Botika, partnership with farmers for delivery of agricultural products to household consumers and enforcement of laws and regulations to promote public health and safety.
“The report also includes the condonation of stall rentals and penalties at the city public market, extension of payment of business and real property taxes without penalties and interest and extension of renewal of tricycle franchise without penalty,” said the city government.
They also discussed the 100% accomplishment in the payment of social amelioration to 23,000 beneficiaries and stablishment of isolation and quarantine facilities.
The officials also discussed the formulation of the New Normal procedures in the processing of transactions at the City Hall and the adaption of alternative work scheme for City Government staff.
“Review and redirection of plans and programs of the City Government for 2020 geared towards economic recovery and focused assistance to sectors affected by the prolonged quarantine. This will include the suspension, deferment or elimination of projects and activities in sectors that cannot be undertaken due to physical limitations and constraints,” said the city government.
“The areas, sectors and activities that will be given emphasis are agriculture, microfinance and micro and small enterprises in order to boost economic activity. Infrastructure projects will continue to pump prime the local economy,”it added.
Meanwhile, preparations for 2021 annual investment planning directed towards recovery and rehabilitation keeping in mind the possible continuing threat of covid-19 pandemic and its effect on key economic activities were touched as well.
