The COVID 19 health crisis has upended the educational system since face to face classes would have to be limited.

Schools have to innovate by allowing online classes, and Sorsogon Rep. Evelina Escudero said the blended learning system should be among the go-to programs during a public health emergency.

In a Facebook post, Escudero said she has filed a bill to institutionalize blended learning during emergencies so that children would continue to have access to quality education in a safe and equitable way.

Her measure would also strengthen national response and preparedness, especially fro the education sector, during emergencies.

We always say education is important, and not even a public health emergency should stop it!

“The disruption of the education system brought about by this pandemic requires a hybrid but viable system of education. I filed this bill not only to ensure that the students and learners have continuous access to quality education in a way that is safe and equitable but also to strengthen national response and preparedness, especially of the education sector, during public health emergencies.
