1st COVID case recorded in Camarines Norte
The first case of coronavirus disease 2019 has been recorded in Carmines Norte yesterday.
The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol reported three new confirmed cases yesterday bringing the total number of COVID 19 cases in 62.
DOH Bicol reported the 1st confirmed case in the province of Camarines Norte.
He is identified as Bicol#61.
He is a 45-year old Filipino male from Labo, Camarines Norte. He first experienced symptoms on April 27, and consulted at Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital on May 4.
He is currently admitted. Bicol#61’s history of exposure is still being established.
Meanwhile, A 41-year old Filipino male from Tigaon, Camarines Sur is the 60th confirmed case of COVID-19 in the region.
His onset of illness was on March 26 and he only consulted last May 5. Swab was facilitated by Camarines Sur Provincial Health Office. Bicol#60’s exposure is for verification.
Aside from the two confirmed cases, another one was recorded in Daraga, Albay. A 46-year old Filipino male from Daraga, Albay is the 62nd confirmed case of COVID-19 in the region.
He first experienced symptoms on April 25. He consulted on May 7, 2020 at Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital and is admitted. Bicol#62 is a close contact of patient with local code Bicol#48.
“The public is strongly advised to strictly follow community quarantine procedures as well as precautionary measures including proper handwashing, social distancing, cough etiquette, disinfection of commonly used objects, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home. The hospitals are likewise enjoined to follow stricter infection control protocols. Everyone’s cooperation is crucial in this time of crisis, the DOH Bicol said.
