Masbate BM Arevalo: Stronger women in, strong men out in fight vs pandemic
Masbate Senior Provincial Board Member Jason Arevalo said that “stronger women” are needed in order to successfully combat this global health crisis.
“Perhaps, in the fight against a pandemic, what the world needs are stronger women rather than ‘strongmen.'” Arevalo said.
The politiko is reacting to an article by The Atlantic where it discussed how nations led by women are winning against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Among the world leaders mentioned in the said article were Germany’s Angela Merkel, New Zealand’s Jacinda Ardern, Scotland’s Nicola Sturgeon, among others.
“Surgical, inclusive and science-based these women-leaders’ approach is. And their nations seems to be winning the war against the viral menace. The goal being in the now and that elections can wait provide no blurring of focus,” he said.
“Far concerned with the science than with surveys, these female leaders offer their peoples better results and prospects,” added Arevalo.
“Guess somebody has to get the kind of focus these female leaders have. And their kind of heart, too.”
