Albay Capitol completes new quarantine facilities for COVID-19 patients
The Provincial Government of Albay has built a new quarantine facilities to augment the need of facility amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Capitol has completed a quarantine facility in Josefina Belmonte Duran Albay Provincial Hospital in Ligao City to house patients related to COVID-19 last May 8, 2020.
According to Project Engineer Ryan Bartolome, the temporary quarantine facility is a two-building isolated area with a capacity of 28 beds housing to 14 patients per building.
It is ready to operate with sufficient water and electrical supply and is activated with 24/7 security.
Meanwhile, the Albay government has also finished the construction of a new medical arts building in Dr. Lorenzo P. Ziga Memorial District Hospital in Tabaco City just this week, which includes a 24-bed capacity quarantine area for persons under investigation (PUI) with mild symptoms.
“The creation of new quarantine facilities in the province is a raising effort of Gov. Bichara in response against the pandemic COVID-19 disease, in case there is a surge of suspect patients,” the Capitol said.
