COVID-19 cases in Bicol now at 42
The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol reported yesterday three new cases of COVID-19 in the Region.
The latest cases brought total number of COVID 19 cases in Bicol to 42. No new recoveries has been recorded yesterday.
The youngest confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bicol Region has been recorded, who is an 11-month old Filipino female from Ligao City, Albay. The infant id the 40th confirmed case in Bicol.
Her family member hasa travel history outside the Region. Bicol#40 manifested symptoms on April 20, 2020 and currently admitted at Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH).
The 41st confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bicol is a 45-year old Filipino female from Legazpi City, Albay who first experienced symptoms on April 25, 2020 and consulted at BRTTH on April 29, 2020. Bicol#41 is a health worker.
Another health worker tested positive for COVID-19. She is identified as Bicol#42, a 39-year old Filipino female from Daraga, Albay. Patient is asymptomatic and consulted at BRTTH on April 29, 2020.
The DOH Bicol appealed to the public to strictly follow enhanced community quarantine procedures as well as precautionary measures including proper handwashing, social distancing, cough etiquette, disinfection of commonly used objects, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home.
“Everyone’s cooperation is crucial in this time of crisis,” said the Health department.
