No need to fear! Ragay Mayor Thaddy Ramos says suspected COVID 19 patient tests negative
Residents of Ragay can put their minds at ease. The town does not have a COVID 19 patient.
A statement from Mayor Thaddy Ramos, posted by the LGU-Ragay CS Facebook page, announced that the 26 year old patient was negative for the disease based on lab tests.
This means Ragay remains COVID 19-free, Ramos said.
But he also said he mourns with the family over the patient’s death and said he would continue to pray for them.
He also asked his constituents to continue practicing the precautionary measures recommended by health officials so that the town would continue to keep COVID 19 at bay.
Don’t fear, but be careful!
“To my beloved constituents:
Early this morning, we have received the official result issued by Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BDRL), DOH 5, Legazpi City thru the Provincial Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (PESU) regarding the first suspected COVID-19 case in our municipality. As per laboratory result, the 26-year-old patient was NEGATIVE for SARS-Cov 2 (causative agent of COVID-19), thus, we continue to be COVID-19 free here in Ragay.
We hope that this news eases the minds of our fellow Ragayanos. Also, we highly encourage everyone to continue following the precautionary measures recommended by the Department of Health to avoid the spread of the virus.
Together, we mourn with the family for their loss, and we’ll continue to pray to the Lord to keep us all safe from this dreaded disease.
Mayor Thaddy A. Ramos,” the LGU-Ragay CS Facebook page posted.
