DOH Bicol reports 6 new confirmed COVID-19 cases
The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol reported last night six new cases of coronavirus disease in the region.
Out of the new cases, three are health care workers. Bicol region now has 34 confirmed cases recorded as of April 22.
“The 29th confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 25-year old Filipino male from Naga City, Camarines Sur. He consulted at Bicol Medical Center (BMC) on April 21, 2020. History of exposure is still being validated. Patient is a health worker and is asymptomatic,” the department said.
“Bicol #30 is a 64-year old Filipino female from Tabaco City, Albay. She arrived from Quezon City on March 11, 2020. She first experienced symptoms on April 15, 2020, and consulted at Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) on April 20, 2020. Patient is still admitted at the said hospital,” it added.
The 31st case is a 19-year old Filipino male from Legazpi City, Albay and is a close contact of Bicol#20. He consulted at BRTTH on April 21, 2020 and is currently asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, the 32nd confirmed case of COVID-19 is a health worker. He is a 40 year-old Filipino male from Camalig, Albay.
His history of exposure is still being established. Said patient consulted at BRTTH on April 21, 2020 and is Asymptomatic. Bicol#32 is the first confirmed case in his municipality.
“The fifth health worker positive of COVID-19 is Bicol#33, a 43-year old Filipino female from Guinobatan, Albay. She consulted at BRTTH April 21, 2020. Patient is asymptomatic and her history of exposure is still being established,” said the Health department.
“The 34th confirmed case is a 33-year old Filipino female from Legazpi City, Albay. Her history of exposure is being validated. Patient is asymptomatic and consulted at BRTTH on April 21, 2020,” it added.
The DOH-CHD said that the local government units will conduct initial contact tracing once notified and announce actions taken regarding these cases.
