Test, test, test! BM Arevalo pushes for aggressive testing vs COVID-19

Masbate Senior Provincial Board Member Jason Arevalo urged the government to have an aggressive testing against coronavirus disease 2019 in order to flatten the curve.

The local politiko said that there can be thousands of people who might asymptomatic and might carrying the dreaded virus.

“Raise the line as we aim to flatten the curve. Test. Test. Test even more,” he said.

“The numbers don’t give comfort yet. There can be hundreds or thousands out there carrying the virus but aren’t detected,” he added.

Arevalo also noted that the Philippines has “one of the lowest testing rates” in the ASEAN Region.

“The government must ramp up its testing ability as we, the people, do our share by staying at home and stem further infection and transmission,” he said.

So far, the Philippines has 6,459 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 613 recoveries and 428 fatalities.
