Masbate BM Arevalo: Vietnam’s success in COVID response due to prudence, preparation, patriotism

Masbate Senior Provincial Board Member Jason Arevalo hailed Vietnam for its relative success in dealing with the coronavirus disease 2019.

According to the politiko, Vietnam’s success could be attributed to 3Ps: Prudence, preparation, and patriotism.

“Prudence, preparation, patriotism: the three Ps that will make Vietnam a runaway winner in a post-pandemic world,” said Arevalo.

“Vietnam’s early and efficient border closures, uncharacteristic official transparency and strategic Covid-19 diplomacy easily are the variables why this developing nation is fast emerging as a likely post-pandemic victor,” he added.

Latest data show that Vietnam has 268 COVID-19 cases. Out of which, 198 have already recovered.

Vietnam has zero casualty due to the highly contagious disease.

“First world countries and developing nations such as the Philippines have so much to learn from Vietnam,” Arevalo said.

“That is, of course, if the people will cooperate and their leaders are not arrogant and all-knowing.”
