43 stranded Bicolano workers in Manila return to Albay
The 43 stranded workers in Metro Manila because of the ongoing Luzon-wide lockdown have finally returned home in Albay.
The workers got stranded in Baclaran after the directive of President Rodrigo R Duterte to imposed an enhanced community quarantine.
The workers expressed gratitude to the Ako Bicol partylist, particularly to Rep. Zaldy Co for the assistance in bringing them home.
Co coordinated with the Albay provincial government in order to bring these workers home.
The Ako Bicol solon also personally visited the stranded workers at the Baclaran Church to bring them foods, financial aid as well as COVID-19 test kits while waiting clearance to go home.
“Matapos ang dalawang linggong quarantine, pinadala ng mambabatas ang bus na pag-aari ng Misibis Bay Resort na siyang sumundo sa mga stranded na manggagawa. Bawat isa ay pinabaunan pa ng relief packs upang ibahagi sa kanilang pamilya,” said the partylist.
“Ligtas naman ang kanilang biyahe patungong Ligao, Albay kung saan sila sinundo ng LGU representatives ng mga lugar na kanilang tinitirahan,” it added.
The workers will have to undego checkup and 14-day quarantine before they could be allowed to be with their families.
