Kababayang maaasahan! Zaldy Co helps 43 stranded Bicolano workers

Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co has helped 43 Bicolano workers who are stranded in Metro Manila due to the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

Co visited the workers at the Redemptorist Church in Baclaran, where they have been staying, to provide them financial assistance, as well as relief goods and test kits for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“The rapid test kits we provided will be used for monitoring purposes should any of the workers display symptoms of COVID-19 infection. It will also be used as a diagnostic tool in support of their request for health clearance before they are conditionally allowed to go home to Bicol,” he said.

Co assured Bicolanos that he will help them return to Bicol once the enhanced community quarantine is lifted, in accordance with protocols laid down by the Department of Health and the Inter-Agency Task Force.

The lawmaker thanked the Redemptorist Church for opening its doors and providing temporary shelter to Filipinos who have nowhere to go. As a sign of gratitude, Co also provided financial assistance to the church to support its social welfare programs.
