Occidental Mindoro Rep. Josephine Ramirez Sato battles fake news amid pandemic
Occidental Mindoro Rep. Josephine Ramirez Sato is trying to keep her constituents informed during the COVID 19 pandemic, and it would not help if she has a poser on the internet.
On Facebook, Sato warned of a fake account that carries her name and likeness.
She said this was not her and that she and her staff had already reported the account.
The matter is now being investigated, and the perpetrator would be jailed and fined under the Cybercrime Prevention Act, she said.
She called on people not to fall victim to these bogus accounts, and lamented that there are still those who try to deceive others during a crisis instead of helping them.
Be careful what you believe!
#InaNgOkSi,” Sato posted.
