Naga City gov’t taps hotels to provide temporary shelter for frontliners

The Naga City government has tapped the assistance of the private sector in helping the frontliners find temporary shelter amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.

The City Government sought the assistance of hotels in the Naga to accommodate frontliners who live in different municipalities but need to render service in Naga.

“To help reduce the risk and inconvenience to medical frontliners working in hospitals in Naga, the City Government reached out to hotels to seek their help in providing temporary accommodation for healthcare workers who are non-Naga residents,” the city government.

Through the efforts of the Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (ACTO), a total of 111 rooms was made available as of April 3 by various hotels and institutions in Naga.

They include Hotel Sogo, BISCAST, Hillary and Andrew Hostel, Bambino Lodge, and others who wish to remain anonymous.

“Free shuttle services were also launched yesterday to ferry medical frontliners between their workplaces and temporary accommodations. Naga College Foundation, Ateneo de Naga University, and University of Nueva Caceres have lent their buses, coasters, and vans to safely transport healthcare workers,” said the city government.
