Ako Bicol, SM Foundation join forces in assisting Bicolano frontliners
The Ako Bicol (AKB) Partylist and the SM Foundation have teamed up in order to bring much needed medical supplies for the frontliners in Bicol Region amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.
The Ako Bicol and the foundation arm of SM Group have so far donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), KN95 masks, protective goggles, hundred liters of alcohol and thousands of nitrile gloves to various hospitals in Bicol.
Some of the beneficiaries were Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) in Legazpi City, Legazpi City Hospital, Bicol Medical Center (BMC) and Ziga Memorial District Hospital in Naga City.
“The AKB Partylist also lend service vehicle to BMC in Naga City that will be used by the health workers due to the suspension of mass public transportation because of the enhanced community quarantine,” the partylist said in a statement.
Ako Bicol has also also prepared food packs for the health workers and frontliners of Legazpi City, Albay hospitals and checkpoints.
Meanwhile, the partylist also expressed its gratitude to Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Lucio Tan Group of Companies and Six in One Corporation (SIOC) for the help and donations for the Bicolanos.
“Currently, the activities of Ako Bicol are still on-going and it aims to help more hospitals in the Bicol Region,” it said.
