Albay gov’t sends team to rescue stranded Albayanos in Camarines Sur
The Albay provincial government, in partnership with the local government units in the province, has sent a team to Camarines Sur to fetch the stranded Albayanos in Del Gallego.
“The first batch transported comprises of one-hundred sixty four (164) individuals arrived here in the Province last March 21, 2020 and second batch with fifty-six (56) individuals on March 23, 2020 having a total of two-hundred twenty (220) rescued persons,” Governor Al Francis Bichara’s office said.
The Governor’s office said that the action showed “foresight” of the entire local government of Albay in dealing with the coronavirus disease 2019.
“Albay PHO-PESU assured that these individulas were assessed properly before release to their respective municipalities with Quarantine area to undergo the required 14 day quarantine period,” Bichara’s office said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ernie V. Vera, Head of the Bicol Inter-Agency Task Force wrote a letter to Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Luis Villafuerte requesting to take care of the other stranded passengers in Del Gallego.
He requested to house them in a quarantine site and providing them food and other necessary services just to secure these passengers while under his area of jurisdiction.
“As of this writing, Dr. Ernie V. Vera, Head of Bicol IATF issued another order to all Local Chief Executives to fetch their respective constituents stranded in different borders identified, the exclusive list of passengers were likewise issued by the IATF for proper assessment of LGU concerned and comply with DOH protocols in managing PUMs,” Bicahara’s office said.
