Occidental Mindoro SP earmarks P42 million to fight COVID-19


The Occidental Mindoro Sangguniang Panlalawigan has earmarked P42 million to combat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The SP likewise declared state of calamity amid the threat of the highly contagious coronavirus disease.

“PINAGTIBAY ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan sa pangunguna ni Vice-Gov. Peter De Jesus Alfaro ang kahilingan ng Gobernador, Kgg. Eduardo B. Gadiano, na magdeklara at ilagay ang buong lalawigan sa “State of Calamity” sanhi ng Covid-19 pandemic,” SP said.

The P42 million funds will be used for the following:

a) Medical Supplies – P 9 M
b) Personal Protective Equipment/Supplies – P3 M
c) Operational Cost – P4 M
d) Relief Goods – P 8 M
e) Financial Assistance to Barangays (P50T per barangay x 164 brgys.) – P8.2M
f) Medicines – P4 M
g) Hazard Benefits for Covid-19 Frontliners – P5.8 M

SP Members Emmanuel Jun R. Abeleda Jr., Sonia Pablo and Eleonor Barrera Fajardo moved for the approval of the said proposal.
