DOH reports more than 97,000 PUMs in Bicol region
The number of persons under monitoring (PUM) for possible coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Bicol Region has soared to over 97,000, the Department of Health Bicol reported today.
The DOH Bicol data showed that the number of PUMs is now at 97,215, Of the total number, 35,754 are in the province of Albay.
Meanwhile the number of persons under investigation is only seven, Region 5 remains free from COVID-19.
“Bicol Region as of March 20, 2020 (5PM) has no confirmed case of COVID-19 and has seven (7) admitted Persons Under Investigation (PUIs), results awaiting from Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM),” the DOH Bicol said.
“All members of household must follow strict home quarantine procedures. Movements shall be limited to accessing basic necessities, and curfew shall be strictly followed,” it added.
It also called on those with history of travel and exposure and are experiencing symptoms to visit the nearest health facility and get checked. T
“To those with travel history and exposure but are NOT experiencing symptoms, isolate yourself from other members of household and strictly follow home quarantine procedures. Also coordinate with your respective Barangay Health Emergency and Response Teams (BHERTs),” the DOH Bicol said
As of March 20, the DOH reported 13 new COVID-19 cases which brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 230.
