Naga City Mayor Legacion seeks religious leaders’ support in fighting coronavirus disease


Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion has sough the support of the religious leaders in the city in order to fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Legacion met with religious leaders of different denominations in the city this afternoon to personally discussed with them the Advisory on COVID-19 issued by the city government last March 11, 2020.

The said advisory orders the “postponement and cancellation of conduct of city large events and mass gatherings due to confirmed local transmission and outbreak of the virus in the country.”

“Religious groups are also being highly encouraged by Mayor Legacion to temporarily halt the conduct of their respective church services and activities until such time that the advisory is lifted, to avoid dangers of local transmission.” the city government said.

Meanwhile, the Naga Cuty government said that the Person Under Investigation confined at Bicol Medical Center has tested negativie for COVID-19.

As of this posting, there are 140 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the country. There are also 12 fatalities so far.
